How QuakerPlan works
No magic: published Penn data, refreshed every night, and a matcher that is honest about what it knows.
Start planning, it is freeThe data
Every night a job collects the course list, sections, rooms and instructor ratings and publishes them as static files. Your browser reads those files directly, which is why search is instant and why the site stays fast when many students are on it at once.
Degree requirements come from the audits Penn publishes. They are converted into rules a computer can check.
The requirement solver
Each course can often count toward several requirements. The solver finds an assignment that fills as many requirements as possible while respecting caps, then shows you where each course landed. You can override it by pinning a course to a requirement.
Your data
Your plan, notes and chats are stored against your account and visible only to you. The calendar link, if you create one, is the one exception, because calendar apps cannot log in.
